February Update 1

I don't know how I will do the Media objective, as I will probably not receive my grade until later in the year, but I do believe that I reached 80 marks. I may have to find a way around this, as I must finish this soon.

I am handing my final drafts in this week and should know the result soon; next week hopefully. I believe that I have reached a Band 4 in both essays.

Unit 14 has went rapidly down hill. I lost my progress from the last month and my two animations. I'm rushing to catch up again and fear that I may not reach a Merit overall now, but hope for a Pass at least. Even so, I will, like Media, probably not know my result until later in the year and may have to find a way around this.

I've received one unauthorised absence last week for being snowed in and not getting to school in time for the first lesson, IT. I find this excusable, but others may not.

January Update 2

I've finished my evaluation for Media and I don't believe that it is as good as it could have been. I'm now unsure if I will reach the 80 marks that I want, but it's still possible. I hope I'll receive them by the time I have to finish this.

I've handed in my second draft of my second essay and received a high Band 3. I have some work to do on the two essays, but I should receive a Band 4 overall on both and will know by the time I must finish the Development Plan.

My second animation is impressive and I am happy with how it has came along. I'm doing well in Unit 14 and believe that I will easily receive a Merit now.

I've had no unauthorised absences in any lessons still. The only authorised absence I have had was for an English Mock Exam, which is excusable.

January Update 1

I've done very little on my evaluation, as I've been extremely busy during the holidays. I can still achieve 80 marks overall, however. I have Media later and should receive help from the teacher on my evaluation. I don't believe that I'll receive my grade for Media until later in the Media. I'll have to find out.

I've just received my second draft of my first essay and my first draft of my second essay. I have a high Band 3 on my first, so I still must work on it, and a Band 3 on the second. Both are coming along rather nicely, I just need to make a few improvements.

I haven't gone back to IT yet, but I have worked on bits from IT earlier in the year to help secure the Merit criteria. I have little to worry about. However, I don't believe that I'll finish the subject by the time I must finish this Personal Development Plan, like for Media.

Still no unauthorised absences for lessons, with less absences for Tutor. I'm doing well here.

December Update 2

Editing for Media has finished and I am now on the evaluation. I must work on some of my evaluation through the Christmas holidays. The filming and editing came together nicely in the end, and I can see that doing well enough to receive 80 marks overall with my research, planning and evaluation.

I've handed in the second draft of my first essay and the first draft of my second essay. I don't know what band I will get, but am hoping for a Band 4 in my first essay and a Band 3 in my second. I'll get them back after the holidays.

I've finished my first animation and am still doing well in Unit 14. I can see little changes coming to this and will probably end up with a Merit overall. I start my second animation when I get back, and can see an improvement on that one from my experience so far.

My unauthorised absences are getting worse for Tutor, as I turn up late most days. My lessons are still doing well, however. I've turned up for every lesson so far, bar a few late turn ups.

December Update 1

I've finished filming and am now on to the editing of my Media project. The filming didn't do as well as I had hoped, but with some good editing and a good evaluation, I can still achieve 80 marks total. My partner is good at editing and I'm helping him along with it.

I've started my second essay and my first is still on a Band 3. I haven't done very much with my second essay, but with the improvements made on my first essay I can see that reaching Band 4 easily after my second draft is handed in for Christmas.

Unit 14 in IT is coming together nicely. I'm happy with my first animation and have been reaching Merit so far. Again, I will have to keep doing as I'm doing to receive a Merit overall in this Unit.

I still have no unauthorised absences in any lessons. I've been marked down as not being absent, but I have turned up at the right time for every lesson, and so that must be the teachers' doing. I'll have to speak to them about this.

November Update

I'm filming my film opening and am currently unsure on whether or not it will be successful. So far it's been bumpy, and I should be on track in the next few weeks. I'm unsure on whether I'll reach 80 marks out of the possible 100 or not. My teacher is supporting my film partner and I, so I have hope.

My first English essay is coming together well and I can see myself with a Band 3 on it. I have yet to start work on my second essay, but I have plenty of time to get a Band 4 on each by February when we must hand our third drafts of the two in. A Band 4 is a relatively hard target, but with help from my teachers and effort from myself, I should achieve it.

Unit 14 is continuing to come along nicely. We have plenty of time in class to achieve a Merit overall. We're very early on, however, so I have little to say on this as of yet. I can see myself receiving a Merit overall.

So far I've have unauthorised absences in Tutor, but none in any lessons, which is what I am aiming for. I must stay on top and try to get to each lesson on time, unless my absence is authorised.

Objectives

For my Personal Development Plan, I have set myself four objectives to follow throughout the year. I will track these objectives on this blog as I go through them. Here are my four objectives:

• Create a successful film opening along with research, planning and evaluation for Media above 80 marks
• Get a Band 4 for my English essays
• Achieve Merit criteria for my Unit 14 work in animation
• Have no unauthorised absences throughout the year

I shall track my progress as I do each objective, explaining how I am doing and if I am doing well.
